I'm going to give you a sneak peek at one of my new fanfics I hope to put together as soon as I can.
Summer Isle Excerpt:
Simon was sure the legend was a myth. It just wasn't scientifically possible.
The gang walked along the sandy beach a little farther, the waves gently splashing by their feet.
It was then that they heard a soft voice call to them. They quickly drew their attention to a young chipmunk girl running over to greet them.
She looked to be about 13. She had a longsleeved red shirt and purple pants. Her short sandy hair framed her face and bounced a little as she ran to them. Her hazel eyes were warm and friendly.
They smiled and waved back to her. She caught up to them.
"Hi, I'm Amber." she said introducing herself.
"I'm Theodore." Theodore spoke politely. "These are my brothers, Simon and Alvin. And these are our friends, the Chipettes, Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor."
"Pleased to meet you." Amber beamed happily. A soft ruffling sound emitted from directly behind her. It sounded like feathers.
For a fleeting moment, Simon could've sworn he saw a flash of white feathers behind her back. Almost as if they were protuding straight from it. But that couldn't be possible....could it?
He shook the thought away and waved back along with his brothers and the girls.
Amber smiled warmly. "There's plenty to do here. I'm sure you'll have a great time."
A feathery ruffle sounded again, causing Simon to look up again. Surely his mind was playing tricks on him. There was no way she could have wings.
"Thanks. I'm sure we will." Brittany said. "Where's the nearest shopping center?"
Amber giggled. "It's back in town. I'll take you guys there."
She turned around to direct them into town and was met with gasps of surprise.
There they were, clear as crystal. A pair of large feathery white wings ruffling gently in the tropical breeze.
Simon rubbed his eyes. She really did have wings? How was that even possible? There had to be a reasonable explaination for this.
"Are those wings?" Jeanette gasped in amazement.
Amber blushed and turned around. "Oh, ye-yeah. They are."
"They're beautiful." Theodore gaped.
Amber's blush grew deeper. "Thanks." she smiled.
"Can you fly?" Eleanor asked curiously.
"Yes. Yes, I can."
Brittany studied her closely. "Show us."
Amber nodded and backed away a couple feet. She flapped her wings and with a soft whoosh, she started to lift up into the air.
The Chipmunks and Chipettes stared in amazement. Amber went higher and higher, and started to fly. She flew like an angel across the sky. She circled a couple passing birds before landing back in front of the gang.
"That's incredible!" Simon uttered, still finding it unbelievable that she even had wings.
"It's awesome!" Alvin exclaimed. "That looked like fun!"
Amber chuckled. "It is."
A small splash nearby diverted the stunned chipmunks gaze to the ocean beside them.
A figure popped up it's head up from the water. It was another chipmunk girl around Amber's age. She had greenish blue eyes and had really long brown hair that hung in the water. So long, that the remainder of it hung below the water.
"Oh, this is Melanie." Amber introduced quickly. "She's one of the most beloved person on the island."
"Hi." Melanie waved.
Alvin froze in place. Melanie was beautiful. He gazed at her in awe.
"I can see why." he spoke softly.
Behind him, Brittany frowned and rolled her eyes.
Melanie crawled out of the water and flopped onto the sand beside her friend.
Another unbelievable sight. Melanie's lower section was like a mermaid's. Her bright green fins flopped apon the sand.
Simon gazed in amazement at her tail. Trying to find a reasonable explaination, he discovered the reality of it all.
Maybe it was true. Maybe it was all true.
